Keith Murlless is a widely respected and accomplished official and mentor in beach volleyball. Having been an active referee both indoor and on the beach for FIVB, USAV, NCAA and AVP for the last three decades, his extensive experience and calm presence on the court have earned him the trust of athletes, coaches, organizers, and fellow officials alike.
Beyond his work on the stand, Murlless has been deeply involved in referee education and development. Through seminars, certification courses, evaluations, and mentoring programs, he has helped train and guide generations of officials, contributing to the growth and professionalization of beach volleyball worldwide.
Known for his commitment to fairness and service-to-sport, Keith continues to act as an ambassador for volleyball in all of its disciplines. As a referee, as a trainer/mentor, as a Regional Commissioner and most recently as a program lead for beach paravolley, Keith continues to “give back” to the sport that he loves.
Married to fellow international beach volleyball referee Suzanne Lowry, Keith lives in both South Carolina and Colorado. His hobbies include camping, snow-boarding, hiking, scuba-diving, sailing, and collecting guitars that he can’t play
