St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Cropper stars in victory over Antigua and Barbuda

ROAD TOWN, Tortola: St. Vincent and the Grenadines made it clear they are eyeing a berth to the semifinal round of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) U23 Male Championship with a convincing victory Antigua and Barbuda. The victors cruised to a 25-14, 25-13, 25-  16 win.

Jamaar Cropper, captain of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines team, was the top scorer of the match with 21 points. Kaliq Joseph had seven (7) points for Antigua and Barbuda.

“We know that if we limited our opponents to as few points as possible, it increases our chances of securing a semifinal spot. We met that objective,” coach of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Daryl Franklyn disclosed.

“Our players are young and this part of their development; match opportunities against a quality field, so we are continuously learning and growing,” Antigua and Barbuda’s coach Michael Hamilton shared.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines play Saba tomorrow morning, October 14, and Antigua and Barbuda play St. Lucia, in the evening.
