ROSEAU, DOMINICA: Antigua and Barbuda ended their Pool A play with a 3-0 ( 25-14, 25-10, 25-16) win over Saba in the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association( ECVA) Under-23 Women’s Championships, here at the Massacre Indoor Facility.
It was the Antiguans first win, having suffered previous losses to St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Maarten. Coach of Antigua and Barbuda – Rosemarie Simon, was over the moon that her team was able to conjure up a win. “ I am really happy for the ladies, because they came with the intention to win… Hopefully they can close out the tournament with another win as we play for the seventh place, but overall the experience here for the ladies will serve them in good stead go forward”, Simon For Saba, it was their fourth straight loss in as many matches. The preliminary round of the championship concludes with match 16, as the British Virgin Islands meets Anguilla in Pool B. |
