Grenada and St Lucia chalk up wins on day four

ST JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda, October 21, 2024:  Grenada and St Lucia, both were in winners’ row  during the morning session, on day four of the 2024 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Women’s Championships here at the YMCA Sports Complex.

However, their wins were in contrasting styles, as Grenada was taken the distance by St Maarten, while St Lucia had a straightforward win over Anguilla.

For Grenada, it was second time lucky, as they came out on the better side of their five- setter duel with St Maarten, as they both battled to the end.

Grenada trumped 3-2(20-25, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, 16-14), while St Lucia won 3-0 925-17, 25-13, 25-9).

Day four results placed the championships in a tough battle for the other spot, as St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda will be seeking to join Bermuda in the title match.

St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda, thus are in a must win scenario in Match fifteen, the final encounter in the preliminary round.

Preceding them will be Grenada and Bermuda, in the penultimate Match fourteen.
