ST JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda, October 18, 2024: Bermuda displayed efficient 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-16) in match three of the 2024 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Women’s Tournament here the YMCA Sports Complex.
Excited to get a win under their belt and get points on the board, Bermuda’s Head Coach- Shalae Rae stated, “It feels fabulous because this is the first time that our team has played together ever, because five of our girls are away at university and we had to come together as a team and am really proud of how they did that”.
Bermuda’s Captain- Kaylee Trott: “We fought hard and I am super proud of my team… Winning this first match means a lot for us going into the rest of the tournament”.
Dimitri Beauperthuy – Head Coach of the St Maarten outfit, pointed to the lack of practice as a unit, that accounted for some of the errors on court.
“It was the first time that the team itself was playing together as a unit, as some are based overseas so did not gel tonight, but we plan to talk it over and come better for our next match”.
Chelsey Augustine, Captain of St Marteen said, we are going to look back at this match and discuss it as a team, with a view to come better in our next match”.
