Fresh off the 2026 ECVA Men's & Women's Volleyball Championship in Tortola, BVI, we caught up with Antigua and Barbuda's Rayana Regis — winner of the Best Server award! Here's what she had to say 👇
❓ Did you sense your serve was clicking during the tournament, or did the award come as a surprise?
💬 "Winning Best Server was a very special and unexpected moment for me. I knew I was serving well throughout the tournament, but receiving the award was still a surprise. I'm grateful for the recognition, but I also see it as a reflection of the hard work and support from my teammates and coaches."
❓ What's your pre-serve routine or mindset when the score is tight and you need a big point?
💬 "I try to stay calm, focused, and confident. I take a breath, trust my training, and focus on executing the serve rather than thinking about the pressure or the score."
❓ Was there a specific match where your serving really turned the momentum for your team?
💬 "Yes. There were moments when a strong serving run helped us build momentum and put pressure on our opponents. Those moments reminded me to stay aggressive, trust my ability, and continue serving with confidence."
❓ What does it mean to bring this recognition back to Antigua and Barbuda, and what's next for you in future ECVA competition?
💬 "It means a lot to represent Antigua and Barbuda and bring this recognition home. I'm proud to represent my country and my program. Moving forward, I want to continue working hard, improving my game, and helping my team achieve even greater success in future ECVA competitions."
