
With a passion for volleyball at the age of 16, Omari fully immersed himself in the sport, transitioning from a player to a pivotal figure in its development within his country. Encouraged by his coach at 17, he began officiating local school tournaments, which transformed his perspective on the game and intensified his commitment to enhancing volleyball in Anguilla.
Playing Career
2015: Started competing at the national level in Beach Volleyball, honing skills in teamwork, court awareness, and the demands of sand play.
2016: Joined the national Indoor Volleyball team, where he further developed my game-reading skills and understanding of team dynamics.
Coaching Career
2022: Appointed Head Coach of the National Senior Female Team, where he designed training programs, tactical plans, and focused on athlete fitness and mental preparation for competition.
2023 Served as Assistant Coach for the U23 National Team
Refereeing & Officiating
Initially refereed local tournaments while actively playing, which deepened my knowledge of match management.
2024: Transitioned to ECVA indoor refereeing, officiating senior male and female tournaments in Antigua, thereby expanding my understanding of high-level match dynamics.
2025: Began beach refereeing, officiating ECVA U20 and U23 tournaments in St. Kitts, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Personal Mission
Volleyball has instilled in me the values of teamwork, respect, and perseverance. My journey from player to referee and coach has enriched my understanding of the sport, and I am dedicated to raising standards, developing the next generation of players, and contributing to a thriving volleyball community across the islands.
